Retail Logistics
Challenge We Face—The customer encountered the problem of shipment visibility until the goods arrived at the port. The supply chain model was entirely reactive, with little or no reporting or key performance indicator (KPI) management, resulting in high demurrage charges, inbound inventory, and stock-control challenges.
Strategy/Scope-LML7 rapidly developed a joint strategy to enhance the inbound supply chain. We chalked out solutions ensuring visibility, reducing post-demurrage expenses, improving stock management, purchasing orders, and vendor management.
Solutions
- Employed closed data analysis and quantification.
- Deployed a web-based purchase order management system to improve the visibility of in-depth shipment information.
- Leveraged carrier relationships to provide fixed-rate stability, giving the company a firmer grip on its expenditures.
- Built a robust and detailed KPI analysis for pre-arranged monthly business review meetings.
